Kingdom of Priests, Merrill walks through the entire Old Testament story. He weaves Scripture and secular history together to give a better since of what God was doing in history through His people Israel. It is an excellent book to give you a grasp of the Old Testament.
Colossians and Philemon is a commentary on Paul's letters to the Colossians and Philemon. Wright takes a slightly different approach to Colossians. He believes that Colossians is argument against a return to Judaism rather than an argument against gnosticism. His insights are very helpful and often very pastoral and devotional.
